This unit will develop students' understanding of the complex nature of literacy. It will help participants to improve their own literacy practices. As well, it will focus on how communication, within workplaces and training contexts, can be improved. Appropriate methods for assessing adult learners' literacy levels will be discussed and trialled. Students will also have the opportunity to analyse documents in regard to the use of Plain English.
