Description: | |||
Rural, regional and remote (RRR) communities consist of culturally diverse peoples who have variable access to societal resources. Their life opportunities are often restricted by factors beyond their immediate control. This unit explores the nature of this diversity, highlighting stereotypes and stigmas which devalue people. The unit focuses on how power is exercised and by whom, for whose benefit and privilege. The unit considers how social services and human service workers can respond to diversity and difference in RRR contexts.
