This unit is informed by critical social science and examines the role that various political ideologies, beliefs and values play in shaping ideas about social issues and in turn, human service practice. Links are also made to the epistemological foundations of different ideologies. Students will learn how to identify and analyse the ideological frameworks in use in a given context and how to develop and understand their own ideological positionings.
