WPL1100 Workplace Learning 1: Introduction to the Primary School Classroom

Description:

This unit is an introduction to teaching, schools and the classroom context. Pre-service teachers will develop knowledge of how to plan learning experiences and apply informal assessment strategies to evaluate student achievement of intended learning outcomes. The Professional Learning Journal will be introduced with a focus on developing the ability to use a reflective writing framework structure to guide reflection. The importance of effective teaching resources to motivate and support student learning will be examined. There is a school-based practical component in this unit.
