This unit examines key current health service management and policy issues from an historical, operational, and strategic perspective. Changes in health service policy and delivery and historical changes of management are outlined. Attention focuses on current professional paradigms and management models (e.g. owner, purchaser, provider models). Selected topics of student concern will include accountability, evaluation, quality assurance, accreditation and the implications of modern technology for managerial decision making. | |||
