In this unit students will study the political systems of the various countries in South East Asia, with a particular focus on ASEAN. General political features will be examined, and the course will identify contrasts and similarities in foreign policy and international relations, the politics of religion, the political role of the military, the importance of elections, the evaluation of human rights and the commitment to rapid economic development. | |||
