M58 Master of Design (Display&Events) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The Master of Design (Display & Events) is a fee-paying, three-semester programme for both Australian and overseas students. It is a vocationally-based degree aimed at students who wish to extend their design skills and gain expertise in Display & Event design and management.
The course offers a unique career combination of Design and project development, providing an understanding of both the design practices and the context in which the arts and cultural organisations operate. It addresses the training needs of Designers who wish to work on large scale cultural events or display and exhibition projects. Credence is given to the specialist knowledge required for specific industry tasks such as the Design for art galleries and museums, cultural and national displays and corporate design or designing and managing cultural events and festivals in urban or regional centres. This program builds the knowledge and specific skills required to design and manage the unique, idiosyncratic and diverse organisations that make up the arts industry. Students will be encouraged to build additional creative knowledge, aesthetic skills and technical expertise in their specific/specialized discipline or to be more inter-disciplinary and acquire enhanced knowledge, practical abilities and transferable skills on a broader front.
Specifically, upon completion of the course it is expected that graduates will: * demonstrate knowledge of design principles in relation to event and display design. * demonstrate critical and analytical skills in relation to design in the context of projects. * combine design skills with management skills. |
