M90 Bachelor of Science (Exercise Science and Rehabilitation)

The Bachelor of Science (Exercise Science and Rehabilitation) course is designed to give students the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge and sound professional skills in the treatment of people who are living with, or at risk of chronic disease, injury or disability.  Successful completion of this degree will satisfy the requirements necessary for Exercise Physiologist accreditation by Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA). This course articulates with the three year Bachelor of Science (Exercise and Sports Science).

 

This is a four year 480 credit point course (or part-time equivalent).  Students must complete 360 credit points, consisting of a 24 unit (360 credit points) major in Exercise and Sports Science, including 2 units SPS3121 Professional Skills in Clinical Exercise Physiology and SPS3120 Psycho-social Aspects of Health and Chronic Disease. The fourth year of the degree consists of a further five units (120 credit points) of Clinical Exercise Physiology including a clinical practicum.

 
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Current Admission Requirements: Students must have completed the 3 year, Bachelor of Science (Exercise and Sports Science) degree, including the ESSA Exercise and Sports Science Professional Accreditation Supporting Major. Students will receive advanced standing credit of up to 360 credit points.

 

Admission Requirements as at Sem 1 2015: Students must have completed a 3 year ESSA accredited Bachelor of Science (Exercise and Sports Science) degree, including units SPS3121 Professional Skills in Clinical Exercise Physiology and SPS3120 Psycho-social Aspects in Health and Chronic Disease. Students will receive advanced standing credit of up to 360 credit points.

COURSE STRUCTURE

Students will complete a total of 480 credit points (29 units). The breakdown of the credit points is as follows:

  • 24 units from the NUCAP ESSA accredited Bachelor of Science (Exercise and Sports Science), including units; SPS3121 Professional Skills in Clinical Exercise Physiology and SPS3120 Psycho-social Aspects of Health & Chronic Disease - 360 credit points.
  • 5 mandatory units from the Bachelor of Science (Exercise Science and Rehabilitation) - 120 credit points.
