ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS Students must meet the standard university admission requirements which include demonstrated English competency. |

SPECIAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS It is important that prospective students have an interest in performing arts and a commitment to extend their practice and critical awareness as autonomous professionals in the creative industries.
EXCEPTIONAL ADMISSION The WA Academy of Performing Arts has the option to admit to its courses a small number of exceptionally talented students who do not meet the standard admission requirements. Students may be admitted to the Bachelor of Performing Arts on approval by the Head of School using this exceptional admission provision.
INTERVIEW REQUIREMENTS In addition to standard admission requirements, students will be selected on the basis of a project and/or portfolio presentation and an interview by School staff. In certain areas of specialisation students will also be required to complete a small project. Students must apply to the Admissions Officer for interview and portfolio presentation. Each applicant should contact the School to arrange the date and time of the interview, at which they should present a relevant folio and transcripts.
OVERSEAS STUDENTS Overseas students who meet admission requirements will be admitted to the Bachelor of Performing Arts program subject to the University’s fee scale. The language of instruction is English and all students must prove proficiency prior to being accepted. International exchange students may also undertake units within the School for credit toward their programs, by applying through ECU International.
EXEMPTIONS All exemptions for the Bachelor of Performing Arts units must be approved by the course coordinator. A portfolio of work will need to be presented for all exemptions of practical units, and Student Central will require certificated evidence of prior achievement. Applications should be lodged before the commencement of the Bachelor of Performing Arts course. Enquiries regarding exemptions are based on non-credentialed learning (i.e. Recognition of Prior Learning) should be addressed to the course coordinator. Students who have completed a tertiary qualification in a relevant area may be granted advanced standing into this course. |
