M15 Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Studies)

The Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Studies) qualifies students to work with young children 0-8 years.  The award provides an initial qualification for early childhood teachers in both:

a) Child care settings which cater for young children 0-4 years, and

b) Kindergarten, pre-primary, and junior primary settings which cater for children 4-8 years of age.

The award is granted after successful completion of four years full-time study.

The degree includes compulsory units studied by all students and enrichment studies which are chosen by students to enable them to specialise in a particular area.

Internship Semester

Depending on availability of placements in schools/centres, high achieving students who have a maximum of four units left to complete their degrees may be offered the opportunity to undertake their final semester of study via an internship position teaching in a school/centre.  Interested students will be expected to complete an expression of interest prior to commencing their ATP and to liaise with the early childhood studies internship coordinator.
