429 Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Business

The double degree course has been developed in response to the growing demand by industry for graduates with a breadth of skills in both science and business. This will assist in boosting Australia’s track record in developing and marketing products and services which exploit its resources and strong scientific and technological expertise. The double degree will allow scientifically able students to undertake four years of concurrent study in science and business in a wide range of disciplines.

 

The double degree course requires four years of full-time or equivalent part-time study.

 

COURSE LOCATION

Students may be required to travel between campuses at Joondalup and Mount Lawley.

 

SPECIAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

In addition to standard admission requirements, students must have achieved a pass in one TEE Science subject and one TEE Mathematics subject or equivalent studies. Equivalent studies include bridging units in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

 

COURSE STRUCTURE

The double degree consists of thirty-two units studied over four years full-time or equivalent part-time study.  The degree comprises:

 

Eight foundation units in Business;

Plus

Eight unit Business major;

Plus

Eight unit Science major;

Plus

Eight unit approved supplementary set of Science units

ADMISSION TO HONOURS PROGRAM

 

Students with a minimum course average of 70 percent in the Bachelor of Science and a minimum of 10 units in one science discipline stream may transfer to an Honours program with the approval of the relevant discipline coordinator.  The Honours program consists of one additional year, or part-time equivalent, with a research focus.
