This unitset requires students to complete 120 credit points (eight units) and is available for students who are enrolled in the Bachelor of Science, or the Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Business who are seeking to include the study of Nutrition within their degree. A major in Nutrition provides the graduate with foundational knowledge so that they can work in the community in health promotional roles.
Students who wish to be eligible for entry to post graduate courses in Nutrition & Dietetics or who wish to work as a Community Nutritionist, should include - as well as the Nutrition major units - supporting units in Chemistry and Human Biology. These additional supporting science units should be selected in consultation with the coordinator of Nutrition.
Careers Health Promotion Nutritionist, Health Care Nutritionist, Research Nutritionist, Child Health Nutritionist, Community Health Nutritionist, Sports Nutritionist, Health Care Officer, Health Promotion Officer, Healthy Lifestyle Coordinator, Community Health Officer.
