The Bachelor of Science (Sports Science and Football) is specifically designed for students who wish to apply their exercise and sports science skills in the world game of football (soccer).
Course Duration: 3 years full-time or part-time equivalent. Students studying this course must complete twenty four units (360 credit points) in Sports Science. This is comprised of sixteen exercise and sports science units and eight specialised football (soccer) units designed to provide practical skills and theoretical knowledge to enable students to: • coach the game of football (soccer) • test and analyse football players both in the laboratory and on the field • design and implement strength and conditioning programs specific to football • analyse game performance • manage player injuries, and • lead and manage players. The course prepares students for professional roles in a variety of positions in the private and government sectors which require personnel with high levels of competence in the area of Exercise and Sports Science. Graduates may pursue careers as a professional football player or in areas such as sports coaching, sports administration, strength and conditioning and physical education teaching at specialist football schools. |
