W71 Graduate Diploma in Engineering Science

The Graduate Diploma in Engineering Science is a one year full-time (or part-time equivalent) course that provides an opportunity for non-engineering graduates to undertake the bridging studies necessary to achieve eligibility for entry into the Master of Engineering course.  After successful completion of this course, graduates can proceed directly to the Master of Engineering course.

The course also provides an opportunity for graduates from other fields to diversify their knowledge and skills in foundational engineering sciences, which may assist them in their careers (e.g. education).

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Applicants to this course must already have completed a university Bachelors degree, or equivalent, in a science or technology related area.

SPECIAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

The applicant's first degree must provide an adequate level of preparation in mathematics (including calculus and linear algebra) and in physical sciences (including statics, dynamics, electric circuits and introductory electronics) to meet the normal prerequisites for units in the course.
