K68 Bachelor of Science (Nursing) Honours

INTRODUCTION

The Bachelor of Science (Nursing) Honours course comprises a fourth year of study following the completion of three years of a Bachelor of Science (Nursing) course or the equivalent.

 

The course allows students with strong cognitive abilities to proceed with a program academically more demanding. Students are exposed to theoretical concepts and quantitative and qualitative research methods in nursing; and they conduct a substantial research project.
 
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Students who have completed the requirements for a Bachelor of Science (Nursing) course or equivalent  with a course average above 70%  may apply to enter the honours program.

 
 
COURSE LOCATION
This course is available on Joondalup Campus.
 
MODE OF STUDY
This course is available by Full-time, or Part-time mode.
 
MODE OF DELIVERY
This course is available in the following modes of delivery - On-campus, and Online.
 
COURSE STRUCTURE

The course consists of three units of study in first semester. A research thesis is undertaken in second semester. Normal student progression is described below:
 
Semester 1
RES510C Research Preparation: Qualitative Approaches 20 
RES510D Research Preparation: Quantitative Research Methods 20 
HNU5105 Honours Proposal 20 
 
Semester 2
HNU5102 Thesis Development 20 
HNU5103 Thesis Development 20 
HNU5104 Thesis Development 20 
 
In Semester 2, full-time students enrol in HNU5102, HNU5103, and HNU5104. Part-time students enrol in one or two HNU units (in numerical sequence) until all three semester 2 units have been completed and the thesis is submitted for examination.
