K68 Bachelor of Science (Nursing) Honours

INTRODUCTION

The Bachelor of Science (Nursing) Honours course comprises a fourth year of study following the completion of three years of a Bachelor of Science (Nursing) course or the equivalent.

 

The course allows students with strong cognitive abilities to proceed with a program academically more demanding. Students are exposed to theoretical concepts and quantitative and qualitative research methods in nursing; and they conduct a substantial research project.

 
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Students who have completed the requirements for a Bachelor of Science (Nursing) course may apply to enter the Honours program.

 

Preference is given to applicants who have demonstrated a high degree of academic excellence and application to clinical practice characterised by a course average above seventy per cent.

COURSE STRUCTURE

The course consists of three units of study and a research proposal seminar in first semester. A research thesis is undertaken in second semester. Normal student progression is described below:
