INTRODUCTION

The Executive Certificate in Records Management course is designed for managers who need an understanding of the theory and practice of records management.  It is intended for students who want an introduction to industry best practice, knowledge and skills underlying the management of corporate and societal memory contained in records and documents.  Graduates are employed as archivists, records managers and information managers, usually as part of a team which manages the corporate memory.  Opportunities exist in both the public and private sectors.  The course structure aims to foster an understanding of records and archives management as inter-related recordkeeping activities, building in a logical manner upon knowledge acquired in previous units.
