K12 Bachelor of Arts (Psychology and Addiction Studies)

The School of Psychology offers a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology and Addiction Studies) in which students undertake a major from the School of Psychology and a major in Addiction Studies from the School of Exercise, Biomedical and Health Sciences. This degree will enhance the employment prospects of graduates as well as enrich the learning experience for students wishing to focus their studies. This degree will provide graduates in the addiction studies field with a strong psychological focus and provide a complimentary addition to the area. The degree will also be useful for students who wish to pursue postgraduate study in the area of Psychology (Honours or Postgraduate Diploma) or Addiction Studies (Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma and Master of Public Health) or who wish to be employed in the area of service provision or programme development within the alcohol and other drug area. The course prepares students for work in education, prevention and treatment programmes in the alcohol, tobacco and other drug fields.

 

The degree is available by full-time or part-time study at the Joondalup Campus. It is also available online. Students need to contact the Course Coordinator to discuss the practicum units.  There are two practicum units in the third year of study which will be studied on campus.
