The Master of Criminology and Justice has been designed to offer guided study to help generate new knowledge and understandings of how to manage complex social issues related to policing, justice and security.  Issues from simple law enforcement to complex social management are explored.

This course supports the student through a research study and in preparing a 10,000 word project that shows competence in the ability to conduct a study and write a paper.  The paper will demonstrate theoretical coherence, appropriate use of the research method chosen, ethical conduct of the study and data collection, correct analysis of data, appropriate deduction of the conclusions and its relevance to justice, criminology, compliance or law enforcement.  Learning will be independent and supervision will be in group and individual settings.

Bachelor degree or equivalent prior learning including at least five years appropriate professional experience.

Advanced standing may be relevant on a case-by-case basis regarding the constituent units of the Graduate Certificate and Graduate Diploma.

Students must complete a minimum of 180 points (10 units).  Students are encouraged to seek guidance from the Student Information Officer when choosing Stage 1 units.
