Description:
This unit provides an introduction to the social science research methods used in business research fields. Practical work provides experience in the conduct of primary and secondary research and develops skills in critical thinking, reading literature and writing reports. Lectures cover the philosophical basis of research methods in business; sampling; primary data collection methods such as questionnaire, observation and interview; research designs; data analysis using computer packages; report writing; evaluating research; and the role of ethics and politics in research.
