This unit reviews and brings together processes and strategies for learning the concepts, skills and values in the Society and Environment (S&E) including inquiry, future problem solving, anticipatory action learning, learning outside the classroom, learning centres and appropriate assessment and reporting. With a particular focus on the variety of S&E literacies: social literacy, ecological literacy, cultural literacy, cartographic literacy, critical literacy and political literacy, the unit emphasises transformative learning for personal, social and global change. Student teachers will develop whole-school S&E policies. | |||
