Description:

This unit prepares the student for the workforce by providing guidance with the job application process and links to professional support and resources. It addresses common selection criteria topics such as performance management, continuous quality improvement, teamwork and supervision. It also introduces business elements such as business, financial and marketing plans. Students will compare employment opportunities between government, nongovernment and private organisations. Models of health care, service delivery and scope of practice will be reviewed. The difference between leadership and management is explored, and problem solving and conflict resolution are reviewed. The responsibility of the physiotherapist as a life-long learner is discussed with a focus on professional pathways, research opportunities, and further studies.
