The Master of Midwifery (Research) course prepares midwives to practice midwifery research. This is a 120 credit point course which includes both coursework and a supervised research project. Four coursework units are included which are designed to impart the skills required to conduct research. These units prepare students to be independent researchers with the ability to develop and implement a research proposal relevant to midwifery. The research project commences with 2 Master’s Thesis Preparation Units. Thereafter the student enrols in the thesis unit until their dissertation has been submitted. The course is directed both at students with an interest in research and those planning a research career. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS 1. Applicants must be currently Registered Midwives; 2. All applicants must be in possession of a nursing or other appropriate degree or the equivalent and must have a minimum of two years post-registration clinical experience. |
