Y68 BACHELOR OF EDUCATION (SECONDARY) | ||
The social science education major focuses on teaching processes, content and skills that will equip students to teach social science subjects. Students aiming to fill specialist social sciences teaching roles in senior secondary (years 11 and 12) can elect to specialise in ancient and modern history, politics or economics. Emphasis is given to inquiry-based practical work, demonstrations, independent and co-operative group learning, whole class discussions and use of information communication technology to ensure effective teaching and learning practices in secondary society and snvironment. Units in this program address key social science understandings and provide the content knowledge, skills and values needed to address the demands and opportunities of the society and environment learning area in secondary schools. | ||
