PMA3001 Site Specific Production and Presentation
WESTERN AUSTRALIAN ACADEMY OF PERFORMING ARTS

Description:

This unit is the culmination of three years of major study in performance making focusing on site-specific work which steers students’ skills and imagination to create meaning from a sense of place and community. Students will be required to work in small groups to completely create an original site-specific work from research and conception to preparation and performance. This will require students to undertake the exploration of location suitability, working in the public space and space activation, research of historical and cultural aspects of site/space, writing, dramaturgical and directorial processes, and the role of the producer/arts manager. The unit will result in a public performance season.
