SST2125 Human Biology and Human Performance

Description:

The human body is studied as a “working machine” in this unit.  Levels of structural organisation in the body are traced from atoms and molecules to cells, tissues, organs and systems.  Students examine important biochemical processes and physiological mechanisms responsible for the maintenance of a constant internal environment.  Bioenergetics, biomechanics, neuromuscular physiology, cardiorespiratory physiology, exercise, nutrition, health and fitness are considered.
