C24 Associate Degree of Hospitality and Tourism Management

Provides specific, industry-focussed theoretical knowledge and practical skills for a career in the hospitality and tourism industries.
This course is recommended for those seeking to establish themselves in the hospitality and tourism industries, but also for current employees seeking an industry-specific qualification.
It focuses on the application of key aspects of marketing, e-business systems, planning & development, services marketing & management, commercial food service management, food & beverage management, rooms division management and research methods.
Students have the opportunity to further specialise and give their studies a stronger focus in various fields, such as event management, marketing, human resource management and public relations.

COURSE STRUCTURE

The Associate Degree of Hospitality and Tourism Management degree requires a minimum of 240 credit points (16 units) and requires two years of full-time study or the part-time equivalent.

 

The degree has the following main components:

  1. a Core Program of 180 credit points (12 units) as listed below.
  2. a Supplementary Program 60 credit points (4 units) consisting of:
    • a 4 unit minor; or
    • 4 electives.

 

NOTE: All Associate Degree of Hospitality and Tourism Management students must complete no more than 120 credit points (8 units) at first year level.
