MABUSJ  Nutrition Major  

This unit set is available in the following courses:
K97 BACHELOR OF HEALTH SCIENCE

This unit set is offered to students who are enrolled in any undergraduate degree and who are seeking to include Nutrition in their studies.  A major in Nutrition provides the graduate with foundational knowledge suitable for employment in the community in health promotional roles.  As well, Nutrition is an area which provides practical science based knowledge which complements many other disciplines and which offers valuable personal development for the individual.

 

For students who wish to be eligible for entry to post-graduate courses in Nutrition and Dietetics or who wish to work as a Community Nutritionist, additional science units in Chemistry and Human Biology are required to complement the Nutrition major units.  These additional science units in Chemistry and Human Biology should be selected in consultation with the coordinator of Nutrition.

Students are required to successfully complete 120 credit points (eight units) which must include NUT1121 Human Nutrition, together with a minimum of two 2000 level units and two 3000 level units.
