Description:

The (Gaining Access to Practical Skills) GAPS program is an ECU initiative based on extensive research into similar programs offered at universities world-wide. The program offers students an opportunity to explore their professional development needs and prepare for future work through a process of individual needs assessment, flexible self-directed learning and reflective practice. The GAPS program offers students the opportunity to do extended supervised professional development in their discipline area as an integral part of their undergraduate degree. The two GAPS units focus on professional skills that will enhance the value of a student to any future employer and give them an advantage in job seeking.
