Description:

Students in this unit will become independent in the planning, implementation and evaluation of outdoors expedition management and undertake a 3 day/2 night wilderness experience. Students will develop and apply theoretical knowledge of natural resource management, agency policy development, risk management, and legal issues in the outdoors. An emphasis will be placed on the further development of critical analysis skills, decision making skills and an examination of the issues and ethics related to environmental management in the context of human impact and community recreation/leisure pursuits.
