COU1202 Cross Cultural Therapeutic Practice

Description:

This unit introduces students to issues of culture and its influence on the ways in which couples define themselves in multicultural contexts. Students will consider matters of cultural and ethnic identity, religion, spirituality, the impact of discrimination and prejudice on individuals and couples, and how couples negotiate their ‘different’ identities. The place of therapy in assisting individuals and couples to integrate cultural diversity in their lives will be addressed.
