Physical Education Minor

The Physical Education minor is designed for students wishing to teach in Years 7-10. The Physical Education Minor is designed to offer education students specialised skills and knowledge in physical education teaching. Through lectures and practical sessions, students will study two curriculum units, a number of sports, physical activity and chronic disease and have the option of introductions to either health or outdoor education. The methods for effectively teaching this content and the issues and challenges facing Physical Education in schools will be taught in two key curriculum studies units.

SPS2111 Performance Studies 6 15
SPS2120 Physical Activity and Chronic Disease 15
SPS3104 Performance Studies 7 15
 
Plus, select 15 credit points (1 unit) from the following:
HPE3101 Teaching Secondary Health Education 15
OED3100 Introduction to Teaching Outdoor Education 15

HPE2201 Teaching Health and Physical Education 2 15
