MAAAAH  Accounting Major  

This unit set is available in the following courses:
G95 BACHELOR OF BUSINESS
Y04 BACHELOR OF LAWS BACHELOR OF BUSINESS

Provides students with sound accounting principles and practical business applications, as well as the necessary transferable employability skills of analytical/strategic thinking, teamwork, communication and leadership, to open doors to a wide range of careers in financial management, financial services and business leadership.
Potential careers exist in public practice, industry and government, as well as consulting in areas such as auditing, financial accounting, management accounting, cost accounting, taxation and corporation law.
In recent years, opportunities for accountants in allied business functions, such as treasury, superannuation, financial planning, corporate planning, mergers and acquisitions, corporate reconstructions, and insolvency have also been increasing.
 
Accredited by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia (ICAA) and Chartered Professional Accountants Australia (CPAA). Additional units will be required to meet these accreditations.

CPA and ICAA accreditation
Students seeking ICAA and other professional body accreditation must take the following units:
LAW2300 Company Law II 15
LAW2410 Income Tax Framework II 15
 
Students seeking CPA accreditation must take:
LAW2300 Company Law II 15
and it is highly recommended that they take LAW2410 Income Tax Framework II.
 
Single Major
Students should take these units among their elective units or as part of the Professional Accounting Minor.
 
Double Majors
Students should take these units as electives where possible and refer to double majors course planners for details of structures.
