M90 Bachelor of Science (Exercise Science and Rehabilitation)

The Bachelor of Science (Exercise Science and Rehabilitation) course is designed to give students the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge and sound practical skills in Exercise Science and Rehabilitation.  This course articulates with the three year Bachelor of Science (Exercise and Sports Science).

 

This is a four year 480 credit point course (or part-time equivalent).  Students must complete 360 credit points, consisting of a 16 unit (240 credit points) major in Exercise and Sports Science, plus an 8 unit (120 credit points) Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA) professional accreditation supporting major. The fourth year of the degree consists of four units (120 credit points) of Clinical Exercise Physiology.

 
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Students must have completed the 3 year, Bachelor of Science (Exercise and Sports Science) degree, including the ESSA Exercise and Sports Science Professional Accreditation Supporting Major. Students will receive advanced standing credit of up to 360 credit points.

COURSE STRUCTURE

Students will complete a total of 480 credit points (28 units). The breakdown of the credit points is as follows:

Exercise and Sports Science core units – 240 credit points (16 units).

Plus ESSA Exercise and Sports Science Professional Accreditation Supporting Major – 120 credit points (8 units).

Plus Exercise Science and Rehabilitation core unit - 120 credit points (4 units)

INDUSTRY PRACTICE is incorporated as part of SPS2303 Sports Science Applications 2 and SPS4118 Clinical Exercise Physiology: Practicum. This is designed to provide students with experience of the day-to-day operation of various health, exercise and sporting agencies in the community. All students are required to undertake industry practice during the course as determined by the Course Coordinator in association with participating agencies.
