This course adopts a contemporary international approach to criminology and justice education. It seeks to develop educated practitioners. Therefore, graduates will possess a significant background in contemporary theory and research that informs criminology and justice professions. They will also possess the skills that are required for entry level positions in criminology and justice professions. This dual approach will prepare graduates for positions of future leadership. This course also facilitates an understanding of how to help at risk young people facilitate their own social, personal and cultural development. Graduates will possess a significant background in theory and research that informs our understanding of young people. They will also possess well developed professional skills that are acquired in a field setting. Each body of knowledge and associated professional skills will prepare graduates for a diverse range of professions. |

COURSE STRUCTURE The Bachelor of Criminology and Juvenile Justice comprises 360 credit points (24 units) and consists of:
Criminology units: 195 credit points (13 units); and Juvenile Justice units: 165 credit points (11 units).
Units are required to be completed in strict year sequence (i.e., all first year units must be completed before proceeding to second year units, and second year units must be completed before proceeding to third year units).
