This unit examines lawyers' professional and statutory obligations, including responsibility and accountability to the law, the courts, clients (including an introduction to the principles relating to fees, cost disclosure and the holding of money on trust) and other lawyers in Western Australia. The unit considers ethical issues in legal practice, case law on legal ethics and the critical importance of ethics and professional responsibility to our justice system and the practice of the law.
