Contemporary Performance Major

G79 BACHELOR OF CONTEMPORARY ARTS 
 

The Contemporary Performance major explores original, self-devised and collaborative approaches to writing, performing, directing and staging for contemporary theatre. Practical & theoretical units cover a variety of live art genres that are non-naturalistic, physical, political, site specific and community based, including styles such as techno storytelling, performance art, theatre anthropology, puppetry, festivals, street performance and more. Students gain a variety of skills, methods and opportunities to develop a body of artistic work while also examining avant-garde artists, philosophies, and histories.
