MAT1108 Foundations of Mathematics

Description:

This unit provides bridging for those students who have not satisfactorily completed any TES mathematics subjects (or equivalents). The unit deals with some of the concepts and techniques of precalculus and trigonometry together with some of their applications. Polynomial, rational, exponential and trigonometric functions and their properties will be considered. In addition techniques for the solution of linear and non-linear equations will be discussed. Emphasis will be on modelling real world situations by means of functions and their graphs.
