Description:
This unit will describe and discuss how languages work, how languages and dialects differ and how speakers, situations and contexts shape language and meanings. It will investigate how language operates as a social process through analysis of structural, cultural, and communicative aspects of language. The unit enables students to learn about the structure and function of language and the terminology used to describe it.
