MPT4402 Complex Midwifery Care

Description:

This unit focuses on the importance of the communication process in the creation of a patient centred approach to health care.  The unit covers both the communication process and communication systems in a generic sense as well as the clinical setting.  It provides students with knowlege of a team approach that is required of clinicians working with women in complex situations and women and families from diverse cultural backgrounds.  Students develop the cognitive, affective and psychomotor skills required of members of a multidisciplinary team that provides maternity care.
