SPE3100 Clinical Decision Support Systems - Standard Tests

Description:

In this unit, students will examine the impact of communication, voice, fluency and swallowing disorders across the lifespan. They will contrast standardised and non-standardised methods of speech assessment, gain experience in test administration procedures, and learn to use normative and associated population statistics to interpret speech test scores. Students will determine the relative importance of standardised results in speech assessment reports prepared with reference to the World Health Organisation International Classification of Function (WHO ICF II) framework. The impact of cultural, religious and ethnic diversity on clinical practice will be examined, and the medico-legal requirements of clinical report writing will be considered.
