Description:
This unit is the introductory curriculum unit of study for students who wish to undertake a major in the teaching of Society and Environment at lower secondary levels and at the senior school level. The unit examines the theoretical perspectives for understanding the Society and Environment learning area. Areas of focus include, conceptual and process outcomes of the learning area, outcomes based teaching and learning, resources, planning for learning, concept building and, teaching and learning skills for the middle childhood, early adolescent and young adulthood phases of development.
