WPL4100 Workplace Learning 4: Assistant Teacher Program: Professional Preparation and Planning

Description:

This unit prepares the pre-service teacher for the Assistant Teacher Program (ATP) by developing professional knowledge, particularly of the planning and evaluation processes relevant to the ATP. The pre-service teacher is expected to attend their ATP school for the equivalent of one teaching term plus an additional five days of preparatory visits, and satisfactorily demonstrate the competencies defined in the guidelines for awarding the Teaching and Professional Development grades. Pre-service teachers will be required to the School of Education's Professional Practice Rules and Code of Professional Conduct and to hold a current National Criminal History Record Check (CRC) and Working with Children Check (WWC) before commencing their practicum. This is a designated unit.
