Description:

This unit explores modern fantasy novels written for children and adolescents. Both the content and narrative strategies of fantasy literature are examined. The unit focuses on the psychological dimension of fantasy in relation to childhood, and also considers the socio-cultural aspects of fantasy in light of recent developments in literary theory and cultural criticism.
