Description:

This eight week (320 hours) practicum will provide students with an opportunity to work with clients (individuals or groups) over an extended period. During the practicum students will work with occupational therapists and other professionals and their clients, integrate theory into practice, develop their evidence-based and clinical reasoning skills, apply the concepts of outcome measures of intervention effectiveness, and learn and practise other skills that underpin competent practice. In addition students will participate in some of the general duties undertaken by occupational therapists, and learn about the systems and legislative frameworks that govern the provision of services within that organisation.
