Description:

Gypsy Studies takes an interdisciplinary approach to the study of the culture and history of Gypsy peoples throughout the world. From the European Rom who left India one thousand years ago.) to their descendants today in America, Africa, Russia and Australia, to the Irish and Scottish Travelling people and similar indigenous commercial nomads found about the globe, as well as circus and fair people with whom Gypsies and Travellers share a tradition of spatial mobility, this unit is not merely descriptive but engages in the theoretical and methodological aspects of some universal social issues.
