G17 Bachelor of Arts (Education)/Bachelor of Arts

The double degree program is designed for prospective secondary school teachers of English or Society and Environment/Social Science. Students combine professional education studies with specialist content studies in two teaching areas. Graduates will have a qualification in both Education and their selected field in Arts.

SPECIAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

All students must clear a CrimTrac prior to entering schools and agree to adhere to the School's Rules and Regulations in relation to professional practice. http://www.education.ecu.edu.au/prac/.

In addition students will be required to meet requirements of the 'Working with Children (Criminal Record Checking) Act 2004'. http://www.checkwwc.wa.gov.au/Employees/default.htm.

COURSE STRUCTURE

Students are required to have a total of 480 credit points to complete the course and 120 credit points each year.

 

Within this course, students are required to complete the following units:

  • Major General Studies units - These are content studies units offered outside the School of Education and must be selected by the students.
  • Minor General Studies units - These are content studies units offered outside the School of Education and must be selected by the students.  These units are 15 credit points each.
  • Minor Curriculum Studies units - These are curriculum studies units offered within the School of Education in a relevant area of study and are 10 and 12 credit points.
