GEO1104 Introduction to Geography: Environment, Space, Place

Description:

An introduction to geography through two concepts which are applied to the Greater Perth Metropolitan Region. The first is the environment as an integrated system and focuses on the problem of Perth's future water supply, the significance of groundwater in the landscape and landuse of the Swan Coastal Plain. The second is the city as a reflection of its society and examines the changing form and function of Perth from early days to the present.  Geographic techniques are introduced as practical activities and in field investigations.
