This unit examines the lives of indigenous and ethnic minority families in the context of contemporary Australian society. It looks at families and child rearing from a number of theoretical and cultural perspectives. The unit encourages students to become critically aware of cultural biases in their own thinking about the family, as well as in wider social policies and programs. | |||
