FAS2102 Constructing the Pattern

Description:

This unit aims to provide the basic technical skills and abilities essential to begin interpreting design ideas into a 3D form. Students participate in workshops that incorporate flat pattern making and garment construction where they learn the various techniques, and specifications required to generate design ideas and concepts into realised outcomes. It also aims to further develop understanding and technical abilities in flat pattern making and garment construction, which allows students to gain a critical understanding of block construction and the possibilities of producing more complex design solutions through pattern development.
